Devi Sri Prasad to Debut as Hero in ‘Yellamma’

The music director known as Devi Sri Prasad will make his first acting role as a lead actor. He will play the main character in the movie Yellamma. The film marks his first acting role after he spent years working as a composer in the entertainment industry.
DSP had earlier considered acting. Director Sukumar planned to introduce him as a hero. DSP has composed music for all of Sukumar’s films. Their professional relationship is strong. However, the project did not move forward. Sukumar faced challenges with the project because his father passed away. The plan experienced a delay because of the subsequent events.
In an interview DSP shared that several filmmakers encouraged him to act. The directors Trivikram Srinivas and Harish Shankar showed their support for the plan. The producer Dil Raju showed his support for him to pursue an acting career.
The movie 'Yellamma' fulfills his dream of becoming an actor. Yellamma serves as DSP's first acting role. The movie will be directed by Venu Yeldandi who is the director of the project. Venu Yeldandi previously directed the film Balagam which received positive reviews.
The movie Yellamma combines rural life elements with traditional devotional elements. DSP will perform the role of a drum artist. The story brings together two village life elements and two spiritual themes.
DSP received a detailed movie plan from producer Dil Raju. He told DSP that they would need only ten days of filming time each month. The filming schedule enables DSP to maintain his music career while working as an actor.
DSP identified Devi as his debut film in the music director role. The goddess theme now makes him find acting in this film valuable. He will perform his acting role while he creates the music for Yellamma.
