The Jawa 42 Bobber is powered by the same 334cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the Perak, which produces 30.64 PS and 32.74 Nm. It is paired to a six-speed transmission. It shares the same foundations as the Perak, including a telescopic fork and a retuned monoshock suspension configuration. It has discs at both ends for braking.
The Jawa 42 Bobber is based on the Perak, although it is a more modernised and sportier variant. It receives a strong gasoline tank with knee recesses as well as a revised LED headlamp assembly. It has a redesigned cushioned seat with improved ergonomics, and the footpeg settings appear to provide a pleasant riding posture.
