Karwa Chauth 2022: Karwa Chauth, one of the most auspicious Hindu festivals, is celebrated with tremendous fervour throughout the country. Married women fast for a day without eating or drinking anything and pray for their husbands' long lives. They also desire for their better halves' success and safety. Women begin their days with sargi, or eating before sunrise. All daughters-in-law are given Sargi by their mothers-in-law. Then, in the evening, after worshipping and performing the Karwa Chauth Puja, ladies break their fast by praying in front of the moon.

On Karwa Chauth, all the ladies excitedly await the moon's appearance to break their fast. The moon is supposed to be much more lovely on this day than on any other. The moon will rise around 08:09 p.m. on Thursday, which is Karwa Chauth day, according to Drik Panchang.

Karwa Chauth 2022: Date and Timings

This year's Karwa Chauth event takes place on October 13. The tithi will begin at 1:59 a.m. and terminate at 3:08 a.m., according to Drik Panchang.

Upvasa (Fast) time: The Karva Chauth fast begins at 6:20 a.m. and ends at 8:09 p.m.

Sargi Time: Sargi should ideally be done before dawn. Astrologers believe that consuming Sargi during Brahma Muhurta is beneficial. On October 13, Brahma Muhurta will be from 04:46 am to 05:36 am.

Muhurat for Karwa Chauth Puja

The puja muhurat starts at 5:54 p.m. and ends at 7:08 p.m. Water, Milk, Kumkum, Honey, Chandan, Sugar, Curd, Incense sticks, Camphor, Karwa, Kalawa, Matthi, Roli, and an oil lamp are required for the Puja.
