The Street Triple Moto2, RS, and R all employ the same 765cc inline 3-cylinder engine that is Euro-5/BS6 compatible. They have, however, been tweaked for various power outputs. For example, the Moto2 and RS produce 130 PS at 12,000 rpm (7 PS higher than the previous-generation RS model) and 80 Nm at 9500 rpm (1 Nm more than the previous-gen RS bike). The Street Triple R has 120 PS at 12000 rpm (2 PS more) and 80 Nm at 9500 rpm (3 Nm more). Both motorcycles have a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and a standard bi-directional quickshifter. The hardware on the bike differs as well.
Though both motorcycles have a Showa upside-down fork, the RS has high-performance large piston units (BPF), and the R has separate-function big piston forks (SF-BPF). The rear monoshock is the same: the former has a completely adjustable Ohlins STX40 shock with a piggyback reservoir, while the latter uses a Showa unit that is likewise fully adjustable. The RS variation has Brembo Stylema callipers up front and Brembo M4.32 callipers in the R model (both with twin 310mm discs), while both models have a 220mm disc with a Brembo calliper in the back. The extreme Moto2 Edition has an Ohlins NIX30 fork and an Ohlins STX40 monoshock, both of which are completely adjustable, as well as a Brembo braking system.
Features of the Triumph Street Triple
The pair are outfitted with elegant LED headlights and DRLs. The headlamp nacelle and side panels have also been updated. The Moto2 and RS models have a full-color TFT display and Bluetooth connection, which allows for turn-by-turn navigation and phone/music control. It also has GoPro compatibility and five riding modes. The "R" model, on the other hand, includes four riding modes as well as improved cornering ABS and traction control. The console on the R model has also been upgraded from a semi-digital unit to an LCD/TFT combo cluster, similar to the Triumph Trident 660. Finally, the Moto2 Edition has reduced clip-on handlebars, a Moto2 motif on the TFT panel, carbon fibre bodywork, and two distinctive colour schemes.
