Torchlight Symbol Allotted to MNM Party

Makkal Needhi Maiam received its torchlight symbol from the Election Commission of India. The Commission issued a notification on Tuesday confirming that the torchlight symbol will be used by MNM in the upcoming elections in Puducherry. The party will use this symbol to contest all Union Territory constituencies.

Application Process for Election Symbol

• The Election Commission issued a symbol application invitation to unrecognized political parties who wish to participate in upcoming Assembly elections which will occur this year.
• MNM submitted a list of ten preferred symbols to the Commission's central office in Delhi as their response. The party requested that one of those symbols be allotted for its campaign. The torchlight symbol received official approval.

Use of Symbol in Tamil Nadu Elections

MNM will also use the torchlight symbol in the Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. The party will use one symbol throughout both regions to create a unified voting experience for their supporters.
