Telangana Government Declares Bonus for Singareni Workers
Bonus Declaration
Telangana government declared a festival bonus to Singareni workers in honor of Dussehra. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka announced the decision in Hyderabad at a press conference with ministers.
Distribution of Profits
The government will give 34% of Singareni company profits to the employees. Permanent workers will get ₹1,95,610 as a bonus each.
Perk for Permanent and Contract Labourers
- ₹819 crore will be provided to 41,000 permanent employees.
- Approximately 30,000 contract workers will also get a bonus of ₹5,500 per worker.
- It is for the first time in India that contract workers are being included in the bonus scheme of a company, officials stated.
Future Assistance and Demands from the Government
Revanth Reddy said:
- The government will keep on assisting Singareni employees.
- Coal India's bonus payment will be done prior to Diwali.
- States are losing money because of recent GST reforms.
- The Centre must compensate the states for the loss.
- The Centre must give a viability gap fund for five years to equalize state finances.
