The deadline-day transfer of Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea to Paris Saint-Germain looked to have fallen through in the closing stages.The Moroccan winger was prepared to leave Stamford Bridge after deciding to sign a loan agreement with the French powerhouses for the remainder of the campaign.Ziyech travelled to Paris on Tuesday to complete the deal before the deadline after Chelsea approved the transfer.However, as initially reported by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea is believed to be to fault for the papers not being given to the French authorities in a timely manner.Ziyech has been trying to connect with Achraf Hakimi, a fellow countryman, in Paris, but as of right now, the player will have to go back to Chelsea.Following some outstanding performances during Morocco's journey to the World Cup semifinals, Ziyech was in great demand and attracted interest from Germany, England, and Italy.The 29-year-old set-piece expert cost £33 million to go from Ajax to the Blues in 2020.Ziyech, a Champions League champion with the team, has made just 13 appearances so far this season, during which he has contributed a goal and an assist.With the additions of Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke from PSV Eindhoven and Shakhtar Donetsk in January, Graham Potter's team is now well-stocked in terms of competition on the flanks.The Blues broke the British transfer record late on deadline day by acquiring Enzo Fernandez from Benfica for more than £550 million since last summer.
