During this time, he was a key contributor to the team's victories in the Europa League in 2019 and the Champions League in 2021.The next summer, he was awarded the UEFA Men's Player of the Year and finished third in the voting for the 2021 Ballon d'Or. He also assisted Italy in winning the Euro 2020 championship.Along with stints at Napoli, Hellas Verona, Sassuolo, and AC Sambonifacese, the midfielder has also had success at those clubs.
